Singing Bass Lines
Examine the Song below . The upper part is the Melody we transcribed in class, but there is also a bassline added to fill out the harmony . Some notes are in unison with the Melody, while others are in Harmony .
I would Like us to attempt to sing the bassline with the melody. This is to help train us singing / tapping (think about the 2 part rhythm exercise) our own individual part while there are other things (harmonically/rhythmically) happening simultaneously.
When I ask you to sing, I we will sing WITH The melody, so you should practice with the tracks above with just you singing the Baseline.
**** The idea is to know this bassline inside out so we can sing it as many different ways as possible. With the full recording, with the melody, on its own, playing along with the piano ETC. ******
