HW Review
The Point of this exercise:
- Sub-Genre : A Sub Category within a particular genre
- It is easy to see - just from the huge # of sub genres - that we are very specific when categorizing music
- ?? The Big Question : What characteristics of the music are we using to distinguish between the MAIN category and the SUB GENRE ??
Context :
The idea that we use music and are selective and picky about the music we want to hear in certain situations / circumstances
|
<<<<<<< When we hear something and think to ourselves " I Do not like that song" or "this music is garbage" or "Turn on something else" What we are really saying is that we can't imagine a circumstance in which we would EVER listen to this song ( This goes for any example I ever play in here that you dislike !)
|
Compare that to hearing a song like this, where you might think "ok, even though that's not my thing, I can at least imagine there there is a person who would listen to that in some situation">>>>>>>>>> |
