Step 1 - Rhythm: Compose your Rhythmic Motif (2 measures for 4/4, 4 measure for 3/4). This will be the only rhythm you use for your song! So the Rhythm is DONE!
Step 2 - Pitches: Assign pitches to your rhythm. Sing them along with the recording of the chord progression on Shorchord to get an idea of which pitches sound good with which chords (** Although, it is tough to go wrong when using the Maj Pen)
Example Assignment: Refer to handouts '3/4 Rhythmic Motif' & '4/4 Rhythmic Motifs' From class for an example. (there are 4 'songs' on each hand out, you only need 2 total.)
