2 Part Choral Composition

Assignment:
Compose 2 part chorals (like seen in class Tuesday) Using the pentatonic scales, and the intervals contained within. Instructions: Step One: Compose a melody Line. Step Two: Compose a countermelody that fits with the Interval Rules. Step Three: Write the intervals Below the music - This is a good way to check that you are following the interval Rules! **** Per Usual - you are being graded one your ability to stay within the guidelines of the assignment***** |
Rules:
(1) Melody Line must Start and End on a note contained in the tonic chord - I.E. C/E/G or 1/3/5 or Do/Mi/Sol (2) You must use the following intervals in each of you chorals: Unison, M2, M3, P4, P5, m3 (3) You may not stay on the same interval for more than 2 beats (4) Compose 3 Chorals: With each choral starting on a different note of the Tonic Chord (I.E. you will have one choral starting on C/E/G each.) ****Examples can be seen on sheet from class!**** |
